And now the Germans ambushed us, doing to us what we would have done on a larger scale; lulling us into the midst of the territory, letting us get ahead of ourselves, then ruthlessly springing the trap, wiping us out. I could hear shouts all around me in German. I was unable to call a warning to any of my comrades without giving away their presence and my exact position.

Nazi soldiers in black uniforms and silver buttons, the SS uniform I had first seen in Angela's London. Three of these self-proclaimed "Death's Head" men moved on me, now, guns in their hands. I swiftly dispatched the nearest, surprising him with a thrust of my sword into the stomach. One of the others fired at me, missed and hit the pipeline.

Fuel spewed out like water from a fountain, and the sound echoed off the metal pipes, drums and other structures. The shot fired had put an end to any stealthy aspect of this adventure.
